Gary Resnick APPOINTED TO SERVE ON THE FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION’S INTERGOVERNMENTAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – November 21, 2011– Gary I. Resnick, shareholder in the Fort Lauderdale office of GrayRobinson, P.A. and Mayor of the City of Wilton Manors, has been selected to serve on the Federal Communication Commission’s Intergovernmental Advisory Committee (IAC). The IAC is comprised of 15 elected officials and is aimed at providing a voice for local governments by providing advice and information to the Commission on telecommunications issues important to local, state and tribal governments. Other local government leaders selected to serve on the IAC include New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who will chair the Committee, Lenexa, Kansas Council member Andy Huckaba, and Arlanda Williams, Councilwoman, Terrebone Parish, Houma, Louisiana.

“Access to advanced communications services is essential,” said Resnick. “Working on efforts to expand broadband availability to local governments and to our constituents throughout the United States will be one of my top priorities. I look forward to working with this distinguished Committee.”

Resnick concentrates his area of practice on regulatory affairs, communications and cable law, real estate and utilities. He holds bar admissions in a number of states including Florida, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia. Resnick was previously the Director of Law and Public Policy for MediaOne—one of the largest cable and broadband corporations in the country, and has been continuously acknowledged by the South Florida Legal Guide as a Top Attorney in South Florida.

He received his juris doctorate with Honors from Rutgers University and his undergraduate degree from Bucknell University.
