Miami, Fla. – March 1, 2012 – Carlton Fields Miami Shareholder Patricia H. Thompson was recently recognized by the American Bar Association (ABA) for her significant contributions to the fidelity and surety law profession.
During the association’s Mid-Winter meeting at New York’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel, Thompson received the Martin J. Andrew Award for Lifetime Achievement in Fidelity and Surety Law. This prestigious award is presented by the ABA’s Fidelity and Surety Law Committee.
Thompson is a Past Chair of the ABA’s Fidelity & Surety Law Committee, a Past Program Co-Chair of several Annual and Mid-winter Fidelity and Surety programs for the ABA, and served as an Editor of Brief, the official publication of the Fidelity and Surety Committee. She has authored numerous articles concerning fidelity insurance and surety law and has served as a speaker at national ABA programs. Most recently, she served as a speaker on the latest fidelity and surety trends at the Fidelity & Surety Law Committee’s Fall meeting in Nashville, TN.
Thompson received her J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School and her B.A., magna cum laude, from St. Olaf College.
