ORLANDO, FL – February 01, 2012 – Joseph R. Fitos, a shareholder in the Orlando office of GrayRobinson, P.A., was appointed to the board of directors of the Roper YMCA.  Located in West Orange County, the Roper YMCA has recently tripled in size and is an organization dedicated to building strong kids, strong families and strong communities in West Orange.

The Florida native practices in the areas of commercial and construction litigation, as well as professional liability defense. His commercial litigation practice focuses on complex business disputes and commercial landlord-tenant actions. For matters pertaining to construction litigation and professional liability defense, he represents a wide range of clients, including engineers, architects, developers, owners, contractors and insurers involving a broad scope of construction disputes, as well as claims involving catastrophic injuries.

Fitos is a member of The Florida Bar, the American Bar Association and the Orange County Bar Association.  He is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida and the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Florida.

As a dedicated member of the community, Fitos is part of the Holy Family Catholic Church and the University Club of Orlando, which offers scholarships to five local universities among other charitable works. He previously served as a teaching assistant for the Street Law Program—a nonprofit organization that strives to develop classrooms and grassroots programs to educate students and communities about law, democracy and human rights.

Fitos received his juris doctorate from Nova Southeastern University and his undergraduate degree from Florida State University. He graduated from Leadership Orlando’s Class 75.
