Benjamine Reid Elected a Director of the Orange Bowl Committee

Miami, Fla. – February 28, 2012 – Benjamine Reid, a Miami shareholder with Carlton Fields, was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the Orange Bowl Committee (OBC).

The OBC is a nonprofit sports organization that promotes and serves South Florida. Founded more than 78 years ago, the OBC promotes championship sporting events, related premier entertainment, and other year-round activities to inspire youth, engage the community, and enhance the South Florida economy.

Reid has held leadership positions in a number of local community and charitable organizations. These include the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, the Dade Public Education Fund, Dade Heritage Trust, Episcopal charities and Friends of WLRN Public Radio.

Reid is a trial lawyer who represents a diverse corporate clientele in litigation. He has extensive appellate experience in both state and federal courts. Reid handles commercial disputes, environmental matters, and products liability claims. A substantial portion of his practice is represented by class action litigation. Reid received his B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law.
