R. LEE BENETT AWARDED HENRY CRAGG VOLUNTEER AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTIONS TO JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT

ORLANDO, FL – November 28, 2011 – R. Lee Bennett, a shareholder in the Orlando office of GrayRobinson, P.A., was awarded the Henry Cragg Volunteer Award, given to those who have gone above and beyond expectations in furthering the work of Junior Achievement. Bennett has been involved with Junior Achievement—the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating young people about business, economics and free enterprise—for 15 years serving as an active member to the executive, advisory and strategic planning committees. 

“Lee has always been and continues to be an integral member and true advocate of Junior Achievement,” said GrayRobinson President Byrd F. “Biff” Marshall, Jr. “His commitment to bettering the community and its citizens is demonstrated though both his leadership and volunteer work.”

The “AV” rated attorney and member of GrayRobinson’s technology team, focuses his practice on corporate, technology, trademark and copyright law. His diverse background and experience allow him to counsel business clients in negotiating commercial transactions as well as mediate business and transactional disputes.

Aside from Bennett’s contributions to Junior Achievement, he also served as president of the Orange County Bar Association and is a member of The Florida Bar, the American Bar Association and the Rotary Club of Orlando. He currently serves on the Florida Supreme Court Professionalism Committee, The Florida Bar Professional Ethics Committee, the Fifth District Court of Appeals, Judicial Nominating Commission, and the Ninth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission. Bennett was recently named as one of the “Best Lawyers in America” for 2012.

Bennett received his juris doctorate from Vanderbilt University and his undergraduate degree from Brown University. He also served on active duty in the Navy for six years as a naval aviator.
