MIAMI, FL – November 7, 2011– Robert “Bobby” A. Schatzman, attorney in the Miami office of GrayRobinson, P.A., has been elected to serve on the board of directors for the American Jewish Committee (AJC). As a highly acclaimed international think tank and advocacy group, the committee promotes the well-being of the Jewish population as well as all minorities through the preservation of democratic values and human rights. Schatzman will be responsible for furthering the organization’s vision under the guiding principles of mutual respect, understanding and positive affiliations.

Schatzman has concentrated his practice area on bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, as well as banking and finance for over 35 years. His expertise includes litigating and defending Chapter 5 and Chapter 11 causes of action, representing creditors and debtors’ committees and sophisticated out-of-court workouts. In addition, he serves as a mediator on the Bankruptcy Court panel of Mediation in Delaware.
An established forerunner in the legal industry, Schatzman was the recipient of the Presidents’ Cup Award provided by the Commercial Law League of America and has been listed as a leading Florida Attorney in “Best Lawyers in America” for the last 20 years. He also holds membership to a number of professional associations including the American Bar Association, the Commercial Law League of America, the American Bankruptcy Institute, and the Economic Society of South Florida.
He received both his juris doctorate and undergraduate degree from the University of Miami.
