ORANGE COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES INAUGURAL LEADERSHIP LAW PROGRAM

Orlando, FL...The Orange County Bar Association (OCBA) will inaugurate a new program, Leadership Law 2012, in January 2012.  A law-focused education experience for business and community leaders, Leadership Law will explore issues within the judicial system that influence business and business decisions.

This unique leadership program has been designed to allow participants in any industry to meet, network, and share ideas with colleagues, judges, and attorneys who practice in a variety of business-related specialties, all while getting an inside look at our justice system.  The curriculum will include topics such as: various civil and criminal issues; our judiciary: how judges are chosen, elected, and retained; contract negotiation; protection of intellectual property; the legal ramifications of crimes involving businesses and/or their employees; current issues in employment and bankruptcy law; resolving matters within the judicial system; the impact of jury trials on business decisions and operations; the juvenile justice system and intervention programs and their impact on businesses, employees, and families; and an introduction to various law-related resources.

According to attorney Mary Ann Etzler, a partner at Miller Etzler, PL, one of Leadership Law's originators, "By bringing our business and community leaders together with attorneys and judges through this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, Leadership Law will allow participants a unique forum to better understand the operations of our local and federal legal systems, while discussing current issues impacting our citizens, businesses, community, and our judicial system."

Leadership Law will meet once monthly from January through May, 2012.  The program fee is $300.  Applications are being accepted through December 10, 2011. To apply online, go to http://leadershiplaw.orangecountybar.org, or visit the Orange County Bar Association at www.orangecountybar.org
