Tampa, Fla. – October 31, 2011 – Holland & Knight is pleased to announce that Joseph H. Varner, III, a partner in the firm's Tampa office, has been elected to the Board of Directors of Tampa Bay & Company.

Varner has specialized in civil trial practice in Florida for his entire career, practicing primarily in the areas of complex commercial litigation, business torts, securities litigation, and professional negligence.
Varner, a graduate of Leadership Tampa (1993), is very active in the community and currently serves on the Board of Copperhead Charities, Inc., which presents the Transitions Championship PGA tour event at Innisbrook Golf Resort each year.
He is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and was recently ranked within the 'Top Ten' of Florida Super Lawyers.
