Attorneys Jon Sale and Jayne Weintraub Join Broad and Cassel’s Miami Office

MIAMI, Fla.; October 28, 2011 — Miami Managing Partner Mark F. Raymond of the Florida-based law firm Broad and Cassel is pleased to announce that leading white collar criminal defense attorneys Jon A. Sale and Jayne C. Weintraub have joined the firm’s Miami office as Of Counsel.

Jon A. Sale, who will serve as co-chair of the firm’s White Collar Criminal and Civil Fraud Defense Practice Group, has extensive experience with internal investigations and Department of Justice policies and procedures. Recognized by his peers and numerous publications as a leading attorney in White Collar Criminal law, Mr. Sale has represented clients in almost every substantive area of concentration, including health care fraud, securities fraud, financial institution fraud, money laundering, anti-trust violations, tax fraud, mortgage fraud and various fraudulent investment schemes. He is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell. Sale served as First Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of Florida and as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York and the District of Connecticut. He was also an Assistant Special Prosecutor for the Watergate Special Prosecution Force for the U.S. Department of Justice. Sale received his J.D. from New York University Law School.

Jayne C. Weintraub, a frequent television legal commentator, represents individuals under investigation or charged with criminal offenses in federal courts throughout the United States and Puerto Rico, as well as in various local state courts. She concentrates on pretrial preparation and deposition strategies, and has tried over 100 jury trials to verdict. Weintraub, an AV-rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell, has represented numerous high-profile clients, including former Major League Baseball star Jose Canseco, performer Sean Combs and Minnesota Viking Leon Hoard. Earlier in her career, Weintraub, a former state prosecutor, handled many significant trials alongside Janet Reno. She received her J.D. from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center and her bachelor of arts degree from Florida International University.

In addition to Jon Sale and Jayne Weintraub, the Miami office also recently hired Anna Marie Hernandez, as Of Counsel in the Commercial Litigation and Real Estate Litigation Practice Groups.
