Mindy A. Mora Appointed Chair of Florida Bar, Business Law Section

Miami, FL – Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod LLP announced that Mindy Mora, a senior partner in the firm's Restructuring and Bankruptcy Group, has begun her term as Chair of the Business Law Section of The Florida Bar.  In this capacity, she oversees all substantive law, member benefit and pro bono committees of the Business Law Section, and is responsible for appointing all of the chairs and vice-chairs of these committees.  She also represents the interests of the more than 5,000 business lawyers throughout the State of Florida in matters involving The Florida Bar. 

Mrs. Mora's practice focuses on creditor's rights, workouts, bankruptcy and commercial loan transactions, counseling high visibility clients in many major bankruptcy cases and restructuring efforts, both nationally and in Florida.  In addition, she has been active in the development of Florida’s commercial laws, having chaired the Florida Bar Task Force that sponsored the 2007 revisions of the Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors Statute (chapter 727, Florida Statutes).  Ms. Mora has served as a former Chair of the Bankruptcy/UCC Committee and was voted Outstanding Member of the Year of the Business Law Section's Executive Council in 2007. 

The Business Law Section of The Florida Bar serves Florida lawyers, judges, and the faculty of its law schools.  Its members share a common interest in laws affecting Florida's businesses, including corporate, contract, bankruptcy, franchise, antitrust, securities, and intellectual property law.
