Ruden McClosky's Bankruptcy Practice Group adds Rilyn A. Carnahan and Barry S. Turner

Rilyn A. Carnahan and Barry S. Turner have joined Florida-based law firm Ruden McClosky as associates in the Bankruptcy Practice Group. Carnahan and Turner are residents at the firm’s West Palm Beach office located at 222 Lakeview Avenue, Ste. 800. 

Carnahan’s practice includes reorganizations and restructuring, insolvency, and receiverships, as well as other aspects of the bankruptcy process. She concentrates her practice on the representation of trustees, creditors, creditors’ committees, and debtors in matters concerning Chapters 7, 11 and 13. She joins Ruden McClosky from Markowitz Ringel Trusty & Hartog, P.A., in Miami. 

Carnahan earned her law degree at the University of Miami (UM) School of Law, (J.D., magna cum laude, 2002) and is a graduate of UM (B.B.A, magna cum laude, 1999).  She is admitted to The Florida Bar and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts, Northern, Southern, and Middle Districts of Florida; the 11th District Court of Appeals; and the Florida Bankruptcy Courts, Northern, Southern, and Middle Districts. 

Turner joins Ruden McClosky from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of Florida, where he served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Robert A. Mark. Here he assisted Judge Mark with matters under advisement and updates to the Collier’s chapter on 11 U.S.C. § 503, which the Judge authored. 

Turner earned his law degree at Florida International University (FIU) College of Law (J.D. 2010), where he founded the FIU Bankruptcy Law Association and served as its president. He is also the cofounder of the FIU Consumer Bankruptcy Clinic, where, under the supervision of attorneys, he represented debtors in federal bankruptcy proceedings. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he earned his bachelor’s in Political Science (B.A., 2007). Turner is admitted to The Florida Bar and is a member of the Bar’s Young Lawyers Division and Business Law Section, as well as a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute; the Bankruptcy Bar Association for the Southern District of Florida; and the Federal Bar Association, Palm Beach County Chapter. He is licensed to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
