Broad and Cassel Tops National List of MultiCultural Law Firms for Diversity

Ranks 1st among Top Law Firms for Hispanic-Americans

ORLANDO, Fla.; May 10, 2011 — Broad and Cassel, a Florida-based law firm with eight offices and more than 160 attorneys, is honored to be ranked among the nation’s top diversity law firms in this month’s 2011 “Top 100 Law Firms for Diversity,” in MultiCultural Law Magazine.

Ranked 20th overall on the list of 100 law firms from across the U.S., Broad and Cassel also took home accolades in the following specialized lists:

· 1st in the “Top 25 Law Firms for Hispanic-Americans” listing;
· 10th in the “Top 50 Law Firms for Associates” listing; and
· 21st in the “Top 100 Law Firms for Women” listing.

Established in 1946, Broad and Cassel continues to foster a culture that advocates multiculturalism, which is demonstrated through the diversity of its attorneys, avant-garde programs, pro bono work and community service.

Several Broad and Cassel attorneys hold leadership positions in various minority-based organizations in the communities they serve. The positions these members have assumed are viewed not only as a way to represent Broad and Cassel, but also as an important step in establishing a path for other minority and female attorneys to follow. A few examples are as follows: Vivian de las Cuevas-Diaz, a Partner in the Miami office serves as President-Elect of the Cuban American Bar Association and is a member of several minority-based trade associations in the greater Miami area; Kelly Overstreet-Johnson, a Partner in the Tallahassee office served as President of the Florida Bar (June 2004-June 2005); and several of the female attorneys are active in Executive Women of the Palm Beaches. Additionally, some of our attorneys serve on the boards of various religious organizations, including the Jewish Federation.

Multicultural Law Magazine has an established reputation as an advocate for proactive achievements of law firms that continue to make a positive difference in the drive for diversity and inclusion. In recognition of that pioneering spirit, the peer-review listings were established to honor the nation’s top firms for excellence in ensuring these standards are met.
