Florida Department of Revenue appoints Gary I. Resnick to Communications Services Tax Working Group

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Gary I. Resnick, a shareholder in the Fort Lauderdale office of GrayRobinson, P.A. and Mayor of the City of Wilton Manors, has been selected to serve as a member of the Communications Services Tax Working Group of the Florida Department of Revenue. The group focuses on studying and reporting on tax issues related to the sale of communications services for policymakers on the state.

Resnick’s responsibilities with the working group will include reviewing national and state tax policies relating to the communications industry, reviewing the historical amount of tax revenue that has been generated by the communications services taxes, reviewing the fairness of the state’s communications tax laws and the administrative burdens it contain.

At GrayRobinson, Resnick concentrates his area of practice on regulatory affairs, communications and cable law, real estate and utilities. He holds bar admissions in a number of states including Florida, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia. Resnick was previously the Director of Law and Public Policy for MediaOne—one of the largest cable and broadband corporations in the country, and has been continuously acknowledged by the South Florida Legal Guide as a Top Attorney in South Florida.

He received his juris doctorate with Honors from Rutgers University and his undergraduate degree from Bucknell University.
