MARLENE QUINTANA APPOINTED TO THE FEDERAL MAGISTRATE JUDGE MERIT SELECTION PANEL

MIAMI, FL – March 26, 2012 – Marlene Quintana, of the Miami office of GrayRobinson, P.A., has been appointed by Chief Judge Federico Moreno to the Federal Magistrate Judge Merit Selection Panel. In this role, Quintana will recommend qualified prospects to the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida and help fill one full-time United States Magistrate Judge position in Fort Lauderdale.

Quintana, a board-certified attorney, represents private and public sector employers in labor and employment law matters. She has litigated federal and state employment issues, such as Title VII, the Family and Medical Leave Act, The Fair Labor Standards Act and public and private whistleblower statutes. Additionally, she has represented employers in issues before the National Labor Relations Board, the Public Employers Relations Commission, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Division of Administrative Hearings.

Also serving as Chair of the Eleventh Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission, the “AV”-rated attorney is a past president of the Cuban American Bar Association. She has been honored as a “Florida Super Lawyer” by Super Lawyers magazine and was among the Top 50 Women Florida Super Lawyers of 2010 + 2011.

Quintana received both her juris doctorate and undergraduate degrees from the University of Miami. She is a graduate of Leadership Florida’s Class XXVIII.
