William H. Edwards has joined Nicklaus & Associates in Coral Gables

William H. Edwards has joined Nicklaus & Associates in Coral Gables and will focus his practice in commercial litigation and transportation law. Mr. Edwards spent the last four years at the Miami office of a statewide insurance defense firm, where he defended clients in the areas of premises liability, auto negligence and wrongful death, eventually achieving the title of "Senior Associate."

Born in Washington, D.C., Mr. Edwards spent his childhood living in Virginia, New Jersey, London, England, and Florida. Mr. Edwards received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Emory University, where he was an active member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. He then earned his Juris Doctorate degree from St. Thomas University School of Law, where he attended on a Dean's Scholarship. While at St. Thomas he excelled academically, winning two best student "book" awards in Contracts I and Cyber Law. He was also a member of the St. Thomas Law Review and the Business Law Society. He supplemented his legal education by studying abroad at the University Maria Cristina in El Escorial, Spain, where he studied Comparative Law and Cyber Law.

Mr. Edwards is a member of the American Bar Association and the Dade County Bar Association. He is admitted to the Florida Bar, and is licensed to practice in all state trial courts in Florida, as well as the United States District Court for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida. <
