Patricia H. Thompson Elected to Beacon Council Board


Miami, Fla. – October 24, 2011 – Patricia H. Thompson, a shareholder with the Miami office of Carlton Fields, has been re-elected to a three-year term as a private sector member of the Board of Directors of the Beacon Council, an economic development organization.

In addition to the Board of Directors, Thompson is a member of the Beacon Council’s Executive Committee. She is a past Treasurer and Secretary of the organization. She has also served in leadership oppositions on the Council’s Finance, Audit Membership and Professional Services committees.


The Beacon Council was established in 1985 out of eight separate task forces organized to promote job growth and economic development, and also to showcase South Florida as an international platform for trade, education and cultural exchange.

Thompson is a member of the firm’s Labor & Employment, Construction, and Insurance Litigation Practice Groups. She concentrates her practice in the areas of employment, construction, surety, fidelity and other commercial insurance coverage, and commercial litigation. She received her J.D. from Vanderbilt University and her B.A., magna cum laude, from Saint Olaf College, Northfield, Minnesota.
