JOSEPH H. SEROTA NAMED PRESIDENT-ELECT OF TEMPLE BET SHIRA

Joseph H. Serota, a member with the law firm of Weiss Serota Helfman Pastoriza Cole & Boniske, P.L., was recently elected President-Elect of Temple Bet Shira in Pinecrest, one of the leading Conservative Synagogues in Miami. His term will begin in May 2011.

A founding member and senior litigator at the Firm, Serota has extensive experience representing private and public entities throughout South Florida.

He is active in professional organizations and civic affairs, including having served as chair of the Judicial Nominations Commission, Third District Court of Appeal, president of the Dade County Bar Association and as member of the Board of Governors of The Florida Bar. He is also past chair of the Metropolitan Dade County Community Relations Board and of the Miami-Dade County Independent Review Panel. He currently serves as chair of the New World Center Committee (Downtown Development) of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce and is the Chair of the Centennial Celebration of the 11th Judicial Circuit.

Serota received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University and his juris doctor from the University of Miami School of Law. He resides in Pinecrest.
