Attorney Ari C. Shapiro Joins Miami Office of Gordon & Rees as a Partner

MIAMI (March 21, 2011) ---- Ari C. Shapiro has joined the Miami office of Gordon & Rees as a partner and member of the firm’s Insurance, Tort & Product Liability and Commercial Litigation practice groups.

“Ari is an exceptional litigator and an invaluable addition to our expanding Florida presence,” said Robert M. Mayer, managing partner of the Miami office. “His vast litigation experience and expertise in complex issues, particularly with asbestos cases, enhances the Insurance, Tort & Product Liability and Commercial Litigation services already provided by our lawyers in South Florida.”


Shapiro represents insurance companies, financial institutions, and automobile and other product manufacturers in a broad range of complex litigation matters in state and federal courts, including insurance disputes (coverage and bad faith), asbestos, civil theft and conversion, personal injury and wrongful death, product liability, commercial litigation, motor vehicle crashworthiness, and professional liability matters. He handles all phases of litigation including discovery, depositions, trial strategy, hearings, mediations and arbitrations and has been involved in over 200 toxic law/asbestos and commercial litigation cases.

Shapiro earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law, where he received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award. He is admitted to the Florida Bar and U.S. District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, and serves on the Board of Directors for Community Smiles, a non-profit organization dedicated to oral health education and improving access to dental care for underserved families and children throughout Miami-Dade County.

Prior to joining Gordon & Rees, Shapiro was a senior litigator at the Miami-based firm Bennett Aiello Cohen & Fried.
